Ugh, what's good about Maryland during wintertime?! Actually, more than you may think. Although winter is thought of by many as a dark, drab time of year, there's surprisingly much to see and do in the Old Line State -- you just have to know where to go. Here are 10 reasons why no one in their right mind visits Maryland during winter ;-)
1. Maryland during winter is literally like walking in a winter wonderland, and I despise Christmas music.
2. Several areas around the state become beautifully frozen over, and that makes me cold just thinking about it!
3. Speaking of frozen things, the state's waterfalls look like ice palaces during the cold season. That's far too magical for me!
4. Snowy sleigh rides are available in the state's western region during wintertime. There aren't enough blankets in the world to keep me warm!
5. Maryland's oyster season is October 1 through March 31, which means winter is peak time for throwing back these delectable delicacies. If you ask me, I'd rather eat something warm.
6. There are plenty of outdoor ice rinks this time of year, but I'm afraid I'll fall on my clumsy butt.
7. The frozen scenes around the Chesapeake bay are too gorgeous. They can't be real!
8. Igloo dining?! I don't have enough friends to partake in this enchanting experience.
9. Maryland is filled with ice festivals throughout winter, but I'm too warm and cozy inside to head outdoors.
10. Many cabin rentals in Maryland offer hot tubs. Actually, I can't make up a complaint about this. This looks insanely relaxing.
Of course, the silly list above is actually all of the things we LOVE about wintertime in Maryland. What are your favorite things to do during winter months in the Old Line State? Let us know in the comments!
