The Mahoosuc Public Reserved Land is connected to the much more popular Grafton State Park and the Mahoosuc Range Mountains are some of the most spectacular in the state.
While a hike up these mountains is a definite must-do experience, getting down into the valleys among the trees, creeks, and critters is also extremely rewarding and you never know what you might find.
You might even discover a lovely waterfall with a swimming hole beneath it! Locals who are in the know love to come here during the summer to cool off and enjoy the sounds of the rushing water.
The park has several lovely spots like this to locate as you wander around. Follow the creeks and you might see little bubbling falls like this with a soothing sound. If you come here during the fall, the gorgeous colors are astounding.
Toward the southeastern area of this park, you’ll find Frenchman’s Hole which is an idyllic place with gorgeous rock formations, thick woods, a fantastic waterfall, and a swimming hole the whole family will enjoy.
