In Maine, dog-friendly places are booming and becoming popular attractions for both tourists and locals. One of our favorites is Island Dog Brewing, where your dog is treated just as good as you are.
Island Dog Brewing, located in South Portland, Maine is a small craft beer brewing facility brewing primarily German and Belgian-inspired ales.
Island Dog Brewing brews only in small batches that ensure that the quality is high.
The brewing company was named after their two rescue dogs that come from Puerto Rico and Costa Rica, as well as the beauty of coastal Maine.
In 2017, Island Dog Brewery opened and they're always brainstorming ways to draw in more people and make the experience more enjoyable for guests.
One of the ways they keep customers coming in is with the dog-friendly atmosphere.
Dogs are more than welcome at Island Dog Brewery both inside and outside at their picnic tables.
Just like Felix and Mateo, the owners rescue dogs, customers' dogs will feel at home here.
There are plenty of water bowls surrounding the space and guests' four-legged friends, both big and small, are welcomed in without any hassle.
Although Island Dog Brewing primarily brews German and Belgian-inspired ales, that doesn't mean they're all the same.
On draft, there is always a mix of beers to choose from including pilsners, IPAs, porters, red ales, and lagers. Island Dog Brewing even has its own spiked seltzer!
Although Island Dog Brewing does not sell food, they do partner up with food trucks and carts so that guests can stay and enjoy the space longer without going hungry.
From tacos to burgers to sandwiches and fries, you certainly won't go hungry if you plan a visit when a food truck is there.
