In recent years, craft brewing has become as ubiquitous to Maine as lobster rolls, tall trees, and lighthouses. What’s even cooler is that so many of our breweries have fantastic views and scrumptious food along with quality brews. One of the best breweries in Maine is Marshall Wharf Brewing Company in Belfast.
If you want brews that are truly local, Marshall Wharf Brewing Company brews in-house in small batches using Maine-grown grain. It gives back to the community by giving the spent grain to local farms to use for animal feed.
The seating is open and airy and pretty much every table has a lovely view of the river. The natural wood construction and furnishings make it a comfortable and inviting place to dine and drink.
On a warm, sunny day, there’s nothing like sitting by the river and sipping from over 20 beers on tap. Whether you like it hoppy or malty, light or dark, there are plenty of options for every taste.
The savory and toasty flatbread pizza is a perfect companion to every brew on tap. Other classic pub fare includes hot pretzels, nachos, and grilled cheese sandwiches.
When the sun starts to set, you’ll often be treated to live music from local musicians giving this place a fun and welcoming community feel. It’s the kind of place you’ll certainly want to return to.
