It's taken some time to get there but seems we're nearing spring. It might not be exactly warm just yet, but we've dodged some serious snow storms which gives us some hope! There are tons of things to do in Maine during the spring in summer. You could easily plan an outdoor activity for each weekend with no repeats. The best part? Many of them are completely free. 1. Visit a very unique store!
Wild Blueberry Land is one of the most unique spots in Maine, but a visit is completely free. However, it's not free to walk out with any number of blueberry delicacies, which you'll definitely want to do! Click here to learn more!
2. Take a trip to Wiscasset and stroll downtown.
While true that it's a tourist destination in the summer which means crowds and traffic, a lucky warm day before the summer warrants a trip before things get busy. Click here to learn more!
3. Take a kid-friendly hike in the great Maine outdoors!
While Maine is great for quiet time and solitude, we think that one of the best things to do is get the family together and hit the trails. There are tons to take, but we recently created a list of 12 that we especially love.
4. Enjoy Saco Heath Preserve for some quiet time.
A one-mile boardwalk will lead you through this 1,223-acre park. The surrounding area is a coalesced bog, which makes for some of the most unique ecology you'll find in Maine. Click here to learn more!
5. Enjoy a fun event in Congress Square Park in Portland, including salsa dancing...

8. Take an easy stroll to Foot Bridge Beach in Ogunquit.
This walk is perfect for folks who love enjoying the salty sea breeze but aren't looking to break a sweat. This bridge links the parking area with the beach itself and it's a great way to start or end any day. Click here to learn more!
9. Visit Niagara Falls...yes, there's one in Maine!
Niagara Falls is a wonderful, hidden spot located in Baxter State Park. There are two ways to reach the falls – either a short, easy and direct hike or one that includes a fun paddle through a lake in the summer. Click here to learn more!
10. Check out a local covered bridge.
