One such destination is the Ormond Plantation is located in Destrehan.
Built around 1790, Ormond Plantation has a history of both indigo and sugar cane. The plantation got its name after its second owner, Colonel Richard Butler, who purchased the plantation in 1805 and renamed it after the Castle Ormonde in Ireland.
