Winter in New Orleans is a beautiful time. Besides just the typical Christmas events that everyone loves--Celebration in the Oaks for example---there are many other unique winter festivals in New Orleans that we know you will love. Here are some of the best.
1) The Dream Caravan, December 4th, 11:30am, 1024 Elysian Fields
This annual festival brings in dream lovers from around the country to celebrate and learn about how dreams can be used for healing.
2) Palestinian Film Fest, Dec 1 – 3, 1618 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd
Now in it's second year, this festival going on right now offers New Orleans a chance to explore the Palestinian perspective.
3) Tales of the Toddy, December 8, 6:30pm, 601 Loyola Ave.
Visit the Hyatt Regency for a whole night of amazing toddies...brought to you by the folks who created tales of the cocktail.
4) Lights on the Lake, December 10th, Lakefront Shelter
You will have a blast exploring the lakefront at this exciting winter event.
5) Algiers Bonfires on the Levee, December 3, 200 Morgan St.
Known as the largest bonfire on New Orleans’ riverfront on the Westbank, this annual concert includes a charity benefit and a performance by Bag of Donuts.
6) NOLA ChristmasFest, December 16th – 30th, 900 Convention Center Blvd.
Where else can you go for a real ice rink, Santa and his Krewe, a giant ice slide, and so much more? You’ll want to visit this awesome fest.
