City park is found in the heart of New Orleans, and it is a truly gorgeous park.
But that does not mean it is without creepy stories or legends. The park is nearly 1300 acres, so there are plenty of places to escape to.
If you ever visit here, make sure you visit the Dueling Oaks, where people met in the time of duels.
Many say you can hear spirits and ghosts near these trees, and they have even been afraid of touring there.
But the Dueling Oaks aren't the only place where you can hear ghosts. There is also the legend of Mona.
The story goes that a family once lived in the mansion that is now the location of Christian Brothers school, and a woman named Mona lived there.
According to the legend, Mona developed a romance with a sailor, and they fell in love exploring the bayous of the park.
But her father did not approve of the match, and told her she couldn't be with him. Distraught, she drowned herself in one of City Park's lagoons.
Ever since, people have told stories of hearing moaning and other noises in the park.
The haunted area is known as Mona Lisa Drive, which is near the tennis courts. Many supernatural sounds have been heard in the evenings here.
