New Orleans is already one of the most spooky and haunted places in the country, and with all of the coming and going of a major hotel, you can bet there have been some scary experiences. So here are some of the most haunted hotels in New Orleans.

1) Bourbon Orleans Hotel, 717 Orleans St.

Some say that the Bourbon Orleans is one of the most haunted hotels in the entire city. The Convent of the Holy Family used to occupy this building, and then it was transformed into a hotel. Some say they've seen a woman dancing by herself in the ballroom, other have said that there is an elderly, cigar smoking ghost.

2) Olivier House Hotel, 828 Toulouse St.

There are two spirits that have been said to reside in this hotel. One is a former confederate soldier, another a lady from civil war times. There are also a number of rooms that are said to be haunted.

3) Hotel Monteleone, 214 Royal St.

This historic French Quarter hotel has a rich history in New Orleans and has been in the same family for four generations. Guests have seen former employees haunting the halls as well as a young boy, known to some as Maurice. His parents, Josephine and Jacques Begere, died while watching the Opera, leaving Maurice an orphan in the hotel.

4) Cornstalk Hotel, 915 Royal St.

This Victorian mansion, now turned into a Bed and Breakfast, was formerly owned by the Chief Justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court, Judge Francois Xavier-Martin. Some say there are ghostly children running around the grounds here.

5) Hotel Provincial, 1024 Chartres St.

This hotel is found on some of the original pieces of land that the French King Louis XV granted to found New Orleans. This very old piece of property seems to be the home of wounded soldiers, bloodstained curtains, and sickly women.

6) Lafitte Guest House, 1003 Bourbon St.

Another very old building that is found in the French Quarter, this small guest house has had many unusual occurrences. Some have seen items moved from one place to another or phones ringing where there is no phone.

7) Audubon Cottages, 509 Dauphine St.

These lovely cottages in the French Quarter have some reported sightings. Some say there is a confederate soldier that loves music, especially country music, that likes to haunt the courtyard.
