New Orleans may not be a BBQ city per se, but that doesn't mean we don't have a few incredibly talented pit masters churning out some positively intoxicating BBQ. This one special mid-city joint has been perfecting their craft for years, and you'll fall in love after just one bite.
If you’re looking for finger-licking good BBQ, then a trip to Mid City’s Blue Oak BBQ is an absolute must. They began as a pop-up joint 2012 by co-owners and New Orleans natives Philip Moseley and Ronnie Evans. In 2016, they moved into their Carrolton location and have been a popular neighborhood restaurant ever since.
It’s not uncommon for there to be a line during peak hours, but we promise the wait will be well rewarded. It’s just a sign that you’re in for some of the best BBQ in the city.
Low and slow is the name of the game here, and for BBQ lovers, there’s no better option.
Their patient method produces some of the most flavorful meat that’s got those beautiful smoke rings and bold flavors.
From brisket to ribs, you'll have a tough time trying to decide on what to get.
Luckily, you can always choose their combo plate so you can pick any two or three meats and sample everything.
Their sandwiches are incredibly popular.
And they're constantly featuring new specials combining flavors you've never tasted before.
You can find Blue Oak BBQ at 900 N Carrolton Ave, New Orleans, Louisiana 70119.
They're open from Tuesday-Sunday from 11AM-9PM.
