While any one of our 21 state parks are worth a road trip, there's something special about neighborhood community parks. Next time you feel the need to get outside for a bit and immerse yourself in some natural surrounds, you can't go wrong with visiting City-Brooks Community Park. There's something for everyone at this 150-acre park, but let's take a closer look at why we love this special park.
With endless amenities and tons of sprawling green space, it’s no wonder why City-Brooks Community Park is a popular park with locals in the Greater Baton Rouge Area.
Featuring over 150 acres to explore, you could easily spend the afternoon here. There are multiple playgrounds that kids of all ages will enjoy.
And several benches peppered around to sit for a spell while the little ones release some energy.
Go ahead and bring lunch! There’s nothing like a picnic lunch underneath the shade of those majestic oak trees.
The walking path is a great way to catch a glimpse of the entire park.
And the 50-acre lake is a great spot to drop a line and see what you can reel in.
But anglers aren't the only ones who love this lake. It's a great spot for birdwatching, too!
After doing a little fishing, trade your pole for a racket and buff up on your tennis skills.
No matter how you choose to spend your day at City-Brooks Park, you're going to love it.
And if you have the chance, be sure to stick around until sunset. Those waterfront sunsets are simply the best!
City-Brooks Community Park is open seven days a week from sunrise until sunset.
