Camping is the best way to see Louisiana's natural landscape up close, and here are some of the best RV parks in Louisiana that you're going to fall in love with.
1. Sun Outdoors New Orleans North Shore
One of the best RV resorts in Louisiana, Sun Outdoors New Orleans North Shore (formerly Reunion Lake RV Resort) should be at the top of every camper’s bucket list. Conveniently located just off of I-12 in Ponchatoula, this Louisiana campground offers world-class amenities like lakeside camping, a lazy river, a family pool, an adult pool with a swim-up bar, a tiki bar, and so much more.
2. Camp Margaritaville RV Resort Breaux Bridge
If you find yourself in Cajun Country looking for a place to stay, amp Margaritaville RV Resort Breaux Bridge (formerly Cajun Palms) is just the spot. With over 300 RV spots and 65 cabins, this spacious resort features everything from a movie theater room to a video arcade. The waterslides are always a hit with the kids, and the toddler spray ground will keep the littlest ones cool on a hot summer day.
3. French Quarter RV Resort
You don’t always have to retreat to the more rural areas when camping, and for those that prefer the hustle and bustle of city life, a stay at the French Quarter RV Resort is perfect. Located in the shadows of the French Quarter, you’ll be just a few blocks away from New Orleans’ most beloved neighborhood with endless restaurants, shopping, and maybe even a bar or two.
4. Woodland Ridge RV Park
If you’re seeking peace and quiet, Woodland Ridge is right up your alley. This privately owned RV Park is located on over 60 acres of beautiful hardwoods along the Calcasieu River, perfect for those camping adventures when you just need a little tranquility to recharge.
5. Land-O-Pines Family Campground
This hidden gem in St. Tammany Parish has been a local favorite for over 50 years, and you’ll quickly fall in love. Kids will love the swimming pools, waterslide, and playgrounds and there’s also a stretch of beach along the lovely Simalusa River.
6. Lake Bistineau State Park
While any of Louisiana’s state parks are wonderful options for camping, we picked Lake Bistineau State Park in particular because it’s a nature lover’s paradise. The 750-acre park offers a little something for everyone including nearly 10 miles of hiking trails, an 11-mile canoe trail, a swimming beach, and much more. Of course the park’s main attraction, Lake Bistineau is great for spending your days fishing, swimming, or just soaking up some sun.
7. Pleasure Point Park
Nestled along the southern shores of Toledo Bend, Pleasure Point is 300 acres of beautiful rolling hills, towering pines, and incredible waterfront views. Launch your boat into the lake and spend your mornings fishing one of the country’s best fishing spots, your afternoons with your toes in the sand, and in the evenings, retreat to your campsite and cook your catch of the day over a comforting campfire.
