There's a brief window in Louisiana when the temperatures are ideal for spending time outside and the bugs are at bay, and that's your camping window. We're quickly approaching it, and now is the perfect time to start planning those outdoor adventures. For a truly unique camping experience, head on down to Grand Isle and pitch a tent right on the beach!
When you're looking for the perfect camping experience, Grand Isle may not be the first place that comes to mind, but that's about to change.
Louisiana's only inhabited barrier island is also home to Grand Isle State Park, one of 21 Louisiana State Parks.
The park is nestled right along the Gulf with great beach access.
You could easily see yourself talking long strolls along the surf and soaking in that beautiful sunshine.
Grand Isle is a world-renowned fishing destination, so be sure to bring along your pole. Visitors can fish from the 100-foot fishing pier or launch their own boat or kayak and head off on their own.
While there are no cabins available at the state park, RV owners can rent one of the many pull-thru RV slots.
But for a more memorable adventure, bring a tent and camp right on the beach!
Grand Isle State Park features several beachfront campsites where you can pitch a tent and spend a night camping under the stars.
Falling asleep to the sounds of the waves crashing onto the shore sounds dreamy, right?
For more information, including rates and reservations, check out the Grand Isle State Park website and be sure to give it a follow on Facebook.
