Located in Trimble County in north central Kentucky, Bedford is a little town that takes you back in time.
There's nothing fancy about this simple town, and that is its biggest appeal. The county has a rich agricultural history and several historic buildings can be found throughout town, including the Courthouse, pictured above.
One of the most fascinating spots in town is the Trimble County Jail.
Erected around 1850, the jail is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and served as a place of imprisonment for the county from about 1850 to 1983.
Every small town needs a classic diner and in Bedford, it's Little Town & Country Restaurant.
It has a relaxed, country feel that will make you feel right at home. The food is made to order and quite delicious and the entire experience will feel memorable and nostalgic.
Another staple in a small community is a charming general store, and Bedford has that, as well.
Somewhat new to town, Poppy's General Store is a locally owned gem that has become the heart of the community. It's reminiscent of the days of running into neighbors while picking up a gallon of milk and chatting with the workers while you wait for your deli order.

The locals appreciate the simple things and life just feels nostalgic in this historic Kentucky town.
