A breathtaking scenic drive is the perfect way to enjoy the stunning landscapes and slower pace offered by the rural areas of Kentucky. Fortunately, there are many scenic drives throughout the Bluegrass State. I love to load up my car with my favorite drink and snacks and hit the road for a change of scenery. Stopping at unique shops and attractions along the way is my preferred way to experience the local culture.

The Barren River Lake Scenic Drive runs along US-31E from Glasgow to Scottsville for just over 31 miles. This area of south-central Kentucky offers beautiful views and noteworthy road trip stops. Although the scenic drive isn’t very long, stopping along the route is a fantastic way to immerse yourself in this area of the Bluegrass State.
