When we talk about vacationing in Kentucky, many discuss the vast range of options during the summer. Our state is a true playground when the weather is warm, but there are just as many opportunities for a fall getaway in Kentucky. While you may not be diving into the water, the popular floating cabins at Green River Marina are ideal for relaxing, watching the leaves change color and settling in for a memorable fall getaway in the Bluegrass State.
Editor's note: Unfortunately, Green River Marina no longer has cabins available for rent. Please check out this list of other unique accommodations in Kentucky!
Green River Marina is located in the town of Campbellsville along the scenic Green River Lake.

Fall is especially beautiful along the lake as the thick forest begins to transform.
The 8,210-acre lake has 147 miles of shoreline, including a few sandy beaches that are ideal for relaxing on a fall day. While the water feels great in the summer, don't discount the idea of a lake fall getaway in Kentucky.

The larger cabins sleep up to 8 people and they also have offerings for 6 and 4 guests. Each cabin is outfitted with everything you'll need for a comfortable stay.
When you wake up in the morning, step outside of your floating cabin and watch the sun rise and the fog drift away.
Swimming may not be on the agenda, but fall is a great time for fishing, kayaking, boating, hiking, and more.
As much as you'll want to stay at your floating cabin, be sure to get out and explore.
