The Summer Run ride will be offered Wednesday through Sunday beginning June 3rd and will operate at 50 percent capacity (for now), with enhanced cleaning protocols and open-air seating. This 3-hour excursion makes for a great summer day trip in Kentucky.
The ride takes you on 7 miles of historic track through some of the most beautiful scenery in Kentucky.
At the halfway point, you'll make a stop at the Barthell Coal Camp, the site of the Stearns Company’s Mines 1 and 2, which is now privately owned and restored.
You'll have time to stretch your legs and walk around this site which offers plenty of history, but also more of those incredible views.
The views from the train are spectacular as well and include all the history and enchantment of Appalachia.
Witness many scenes like this one, of rushing water and rocky shorelines.
