Can any Kansan truly resist a day out in the beautiful outdoors? Not only do these beautiful rocky areas make for great hiking, but the added waterfall is definitely a bonus. Indian Rock Park is one road trip away, if you've got the will for adventure.
Welcome to Indian Rock Park, a stunning area near Salina that's just too beautiful to pass up. That is, if you have the time for an adventure!
The trail gets pretty steep in areas, but that's nothing good shoes and a walking stick can't usually fix. It's rated as moderate, so use caution when exploring.
Not only do you get the beauty of a view over Kansas, but the rushing water at this short waterfall is simply relaxing.
A big spot to stop by is the Indian Rock itself, a marker of the Battle Of Indian Rock in 1857. The Kansa, Potawatomi, and Delaware native nations clashed here during their last (significant) skirmish.
Though it may look fun to climb, injuries happen often here, so be wary of your surroundings and your experience.
Who wouldn't love a trail with rocky paths to climb, two sets of waterfalls, and an overlook of local scenery?
Leashed dogs are allowed on the trail, and all 1.2 miles are a good bit of exercise due to all the elevation changes. It's accessible year round, and looks especially beautiful frozen in the winter.
For more information about the main trail, you'll want to check out the Indian Rock Park AllTrails page.
