Here in Kansas, we love our food. Whether you're in one of our larger cities or a small town out on the prairie that you'd miss if you blinked, you're sure to find some delicious cuisine. Next time you're on a Sunflower State road trip and happen to pass through the minuscule town of Kensington (population: 399), make sure to stop by the Rusty Tractor. This friendly, down-home joint is one of our favorite roadside restaurants in Kansas. It's got a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere and a delicious menu filled with all kinds of goodies, all made fresh daily and almost as good as Grandma used to make.
Kensington is an easy-to-miss prairie town that has a population hovering around 400. It's tucked away in the north-central part of the state, not far from the highways that run through Smith County.
Hiding here in this unassuming little town is the delicious Rusty Tractor. The name might not sound very appealing, but the food sure is! It's located right beside a gas station and overlooks the quintessential Kansan plain surroundings.
The Rusty Tractor has been delighting locals and travelers alike for nearly a decade. It's a full-service restaurant offering up great food, a friendly atmosphere, and a wonderful place to connect with the community.
You'll find a menu filled with varied American delights. The burgers here are especially beloved, and with good reason.
You can also choose from a great selection of sandwiches and sides. With a rotating variety of specials, you never know what you'll get.
No matter what meal you opt for, make sure to save room for dessert!
This is such a delicious small town restaurant in Kansas - make sure to stop by next time you're in the area. For more information about the Rusty Tractor, visit the Rusty Tractor website or Facebook page.
