There are more than a handful of bed and breakfasts in Kansas, but this one in Topeka stands apart from them all as the best winter getaway we know. There are endless meal options outside the home and scenic Topeka is a city that's sometimes overlooked in favor of others with more tourism. Well, let's change that! This amazing bed and breakfast is your best stop for a winter getaway while the snow blows.
The Woodward is a stunning bed and breakfast, no matter the time of year. They have multiple inns open on the property, but the main house is my personal favorite, and the most beautiful. The garden surrounding the home is full of flowers and statues to delight even children.
Just look at that profile. The Woodward was built in the 1920s, and features a 2.5 story library that's open for use if you stay the night. They also have a tea club and murder mystery nights, if you're so inclined.
Inside the Woodward is beautiful stained glass, overlooking the living room.
The dining room also has a lot of charm, and the dark tones leave the whole room feeling warm and cozy.
Which is only made better by your bed, and in the Master suite, you sleep on one of the coziest four-posters in town. What else could you want? Breakfast, of course! They serve evening desserts and great breakfasts that range from savory to sweet.
Plus, the Chester suite includes a rooftop hot tub, which is what we all need when it comes to chilly nights. Until it's time to get out!
Make sure to come visit this amazing and historic building hiding near Topeka's scenic old town district.
Here's a map for your convenience, or you can find the house at 1272 SW Fillmore St., Topeka, Kansas.
After you've traveled to tour (or stay) at this beautiful bed and breakfast, you should stop by this amazing grilled cheese hideaway that's also in Topeka.
