Everyone has a favorite place to get pizza, but when is the last time you branched out and tried to find a new favorite? We've found a list of pizza places around Kansas that offer plenty in the taste department but might have slipped past your radar on your travels. While you're in Wichita, you might think that pizza means a chain restaurant, but one stop at Wichita Brewing Co will easily change your mind. Plus, they pair great with a cold one.

2. Lomato's Pizza - 130 W 9th St., Hays, KS

Lomato's in Hays is probably the best classic pepperoni pizza that I've tasted in this area. Not only is it fresh and delicious, but they line up the pepperoni so you don't have any pieces sliding off the side, and they're all evenly spaced.

3. Minsky's Pizza - 934 Massachusetts St., Lawrence, KS

Minsky's is a classic stop if you're in Lawrence, and eating there is always a blast. They have regular pizza styles as well as both vegan and gluten free options, so no one is left out of the fun. Plus, they also display local artists' work on the walls to give you a unique experience that's all Lawrence.

4. Coop's Pizzeria - 123-B, S Santa Fe Ave., Salina, KS

Coop's is an amazing handmade pizza that I haven't found anything like since. Don't be afraid to come by if they're a little busy, because the pizza is well worth a little wait.

5. Back Alley Pizza - 125 W 6th St., Newton, KS

Back Alley sounds like you might not want to eat any of their food, but I assure you, you'll find that it refers to their patio and not their pizza. Speaking of the pizza, they serve both classic flavors as well as more modern combos that people have fallen in love with.

6. Dave's Pizza Oven - 100 N Central Ave., Coldwater, KS

Dave's is a pizza place like you'd expect to see in movies. It's charming, but doesn't feel stuffy or fancy. Oh, and the food is amazing every time.

7. Old Shawnee Pizza - 6000 Roger Rd., Shawnee, KS

Old Shawnee Pizza does things right, as far as I'm concerned. It feels like a pizza joint, looks like a pizza joint, and makes amazing pizza. That's all we need to have a great time!

8. Avelluto's Italian Delight - 6522 Martway St., Mission, KS

This Italian joint doesn't always make your classic pizza flavors that you're used to. However, you'd be surprised at just how delicious new flavors and toppings can be. Don't be scared to try something new!

9. Pizza Parlor - 1401 NE Seward Ave., Topeka, KS

Pizza Parlor is a must-try for anyone new to Topeka or their restaurants, and you'll soon find out why. Everything feels so unique to the location, and you'll know its a winner as soon as you get there.

10. D'Mario's - 1528, 720 W 14th St., Harper, KS

Now D'Mario's is a pizza I grew up with, but that's not my favorite slice here. Their dessert pizza is by far the most delicious thing I've ever eaten, hands down. Everything beyond this is just a bonus!

11. Papa Don's Pizza - 10 N Main St., Fort Scott, KS

Papa Don's has some great eats, but have you ever tried the comforting taste of breakfast pizza? You might think it would be weird to eat your breakfast favorites on a slice, but it's a slice of heaven for sure. This is one of those pizza places you find yourself going back to time and time again.
