One of the best parts about taking a hike is having things to explore along the way. If this sounds like your idea of a good time, head to Sac and Fox Trail in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Along with taking in the fresh air, you'll get to enjoy how the trail meanders through the forest. While the trail is over six miles, the highest elevation on the trail is under 50 feet. Therefore, the trail is easy and a great destination that the whole family can enjoy together.
To reach the Sac and Fox Trail, head North on I - 380 if you're coming from Iowa City.
You'll get to enjoy the peaceful scenery and lots of greenery when you walk along this fairly flat out-and-back trail.
As you explore this area, have fun pretending that you're in your very own enchanted forest.
Remember your camera so you can snap picturesque views like this photo of the sun peeking behind the trees. You can also see its reflection in the water.
Keep your eyes peeled for both wildlife, (like the deer in this photo), and wildflowers when you hike along the Sax and Fox Trail.
The trail is conducive for mountain biking. However, dogs are not permitted on this hike.
