Tori Jane is a storm chaser, writer, photographer, and the village idiot - in that order. When she's not out and about dancing with the meanest storms on planet Earth for funsies she can be found wandering, shooting landscapes, writing, editing photos, and otherwise up to no good. Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
Let’s be real for a second here: there is absolutely NO shortage of amazing hiking in Indiana. It seems like no matter where you turn, you’re sure to find an incredible trail you haven’t yet explored; take, for example, the incredible Trail #6 at Charlestown State Park. This awe-inspiring trail is rated as moderately difficult, and it’s absolutely worth the small amount of effort you’ll exert completing it. At just barely over two-and-a-half miles long, this jaw-dropping adventure is worthy of a whole article all to itself – so that’s what I’m doing. Come out to Charlestown State Park and experience this amazing hiking trail in Indiana for yourself.
Charlestown State Park is a wonderful place to be, whether you're here for a day trip, a weekend trip, or even just an afternoon.
Well, today I'm fixing that; this amazing hike is the perfect way to introduce yourself to the park if you've never been here before (or to further your love for it if you have).

It's not terribly long - like I said, it's just over 2.5 miles in length - but over this short distance, you'll encounter all sorts of magic.
Take in the sounds of the birds. The sound of the creek. You'll hear the waterfall around here before you see it (especially during snowmelt, or after it rains). Time passes slowly here. Enjoy it.
This trail is open year-round, though my favorite time to hike is late spring into early summer.
It's popular, though, so if you're hoping to avoid crowds I strongly suggest you arrive early in the morning during the week.
