Tori Jane is a storm chaser, writer, photographer, and the village idiot - in that order. When she's not out and about dancing with the meanest storms on planet Earth for funsies she can be found wandering, shooting landscapes, writing, editing photos, and otherwise up to no good. Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
Indiana is a state without much ado about it. It’s a simple place where the days go slow and the nights are chilled, with family and friends not terribly far away and endless small towns, parks, and other areas to fall in love with. During the summer, though, it gets pretty hot thanks to our usual daytime temperatures and humidity; in that case, I’ve found one of the best things to do about such a situation. If anyone needs me, I’ll be found here: on the water, in a giant inner tube with some of my favorite people. Summer in Indiana has never been as fun as it is on the state’s longest lazy river float!
Welcome to Indiana: an underrated, over-excellent little place where nature and culture collide and create the ultimate destination.
You'll never run out of things to do, from historic places to incredible eateries, utterly jaw-dropping parks, and more - and right now, I'd like to highlight an old-school summertime favorite: the ol' lazy river.
River tubing is definitely a long-loved adventure that plenty of us look forward to for the entirety of our chilly winters.
Take, for example, the adventure you can have with Riverside Rentals - a company offering up canoes and inner tubes for summer lovers to enjoy 'til it gets too chilly to do so.

At three and a half miles in length, this is easily one of the longest floats in Indiana.
The journey can take anywhere from three to four hours - sometimes more - depending on water flow. Come following a good storm system and enjoy the benefits of a roaring river!
First, get to HQ at 589 East Old SR-14 in Winamac; fill out some paperwork, get your tube, and get ready to rumble (or float, rather). Once you're ready, the boarding bus will arrive - take it to the launching point, where the adventure begins.
Hours and times vary, though the busy season is weekends in April, May, September and October; in June, July, and August, it's open seven days a week. Score!
Tubing season typically begins in June, though if tubes aren't your thing, you can always go with something like a kayak. Fun times are ahead either way.
Since the kind folks here have you covered, no need to bring your own float - just bring your readiness to have a great time.
