Each and every summer, there’s at least one holiday that most of us look forward to: The 4th of July and the awesome fireworks displays that come with it. It’s a time to celebrate the history of our nation in spectacular fashion, and if anyone does it well, it’s Indiana. If you’ve been Googling “where to watch fireworks near me” and you’re in the Hoosier State, you’ve found the jackpot. I’ve gone ahead and found a handful of amazing fireworks displays in Indiana to celebrate this coming July 4th holiday in style. Let’s dive in!

Lake Wawasee, Turkey Creek Township, IN 46567, USA

This one's number one for a reason: as the biggest fireworks show in Indiana, the Fireworks on Lake Wawasee event is a bonanza nobody can afford to miss. Taking place on the Saturday closest to July 4th each and every year, this awesome show over the lake is nothing short of absolutely dreamlike. There's no entry fee, but donations are definitely encouraged as those are what funds the whole shebang.

The nothing-short-of-epic Freedom Festival in Greenwood, Indiana, is an excellent example at just how EPIC July 4th in Indiana can be. With more than 50,000 attendees coming out to Greenwood's Craig Park each year, this incredible spectacle is one of the best shows in the whole Midwest. This year's festivities take place on Saturday, June 29th; shenanigans kick off at 4 p.m. with the annual parade on Madison Avenue.

Lake Shafer is famous for its amazing theme park known as Indiana Beach, and trust me - it's EPIC. It's even MORE epic during the month of July, though, as some of the best fireworks displays in Indiana go on more than once. Can't make it out on the 4th? Other shows will be on July 10th, 17th, and 31st, with an encore on September 1st. Shows all start at 10 p.m.; shows are by far best viewed from the boardwalk on Lake Shafer.

The most amazing fireworks displays in Indiana are often in smaller towns, and this one's an amazing example. Taking place on July 4th, the fun kicks off at 6 p.m. and the fireworks go on at 9:30. Bring your appetite, as there will be plenty of wonderful local food vendors onsite. Best of all, it's free!

5. Paragon Speedway Racing and Fireworks

On June 29th, Paragon Speedway is hosting a race before the fireworks bonanza, so show up early for the best spots! General admission is $15 per person; pit tickets are $30 a person. Times are to be announced, so keep an eye on the website.

6. Fireworks at Lake Lemon

Lake Lemon is beautiful year-round, but it’s especially amazing during the Independence Day Fireworks Show. This show begins at dusk at Riddle Point Park and costs just $25 per vehicle.

7. City of Lawrence 4th Fest

Taking place at Lawrence Community Park (and for free!) is this delightful fireworks show that the whole family will delight in. It kicks off with a 10 a.m. parade and ends with fireworks at 10 p.m.

8. Downtown Indy’s 4th Fest

Now in its second year, this awesome July 4th celebration is bigger and better than ever. It all starts with a street festival at 6 p.m. and concludes with a fireworks show at 10 p.m.

9. 4th of July Fireworks Around Fishers

This event will take place on July 4th at three locations (Nickel Plate District, Geist Reservoir, and Cyntheanne Park). It starts with an 8 p.m. concert followed by fireworks at 10 p.m.

It’s too bad that so many take place on the same dates, but hey – there are lots of others not listed here also going on with different dates and times. I definitely recommend you get out as much as possible and celebrate as many times as you can from now ’til July 4th.
