The small town of Culver, Indiana is a beautiful community of about 1,300 residents who know about a beach every Hoosier needs to visit.
Nestled around the northwest corner of Lake Maxinkuckee, this town is home to Beach Lodge, also known as Culver Beach. The beach is part of Culver Park, which is a five-acre area that includes shops, restaurants, and more.
Lake Maxinkuckee is the second largest natural lake in Indiana and it is 1,864 acres in total. It is used by locals for swimming, boating, fishing, and of course, classic beach activities like making sand castles and sunbathing.
Admission to the beach is budget-friendly. It costs $3 for those age 13 and up while children between ages 4 and 12 are admitted for $2.50 each. Children under the age of 3, as well as past and present military personel, may enter for free, and senior citizens can enter for just $1.
Through the rest of the summer season, the beach will be open daily from noon to 6 p.m. Beach passes, swim lessons, and boat rentals are also available.
Additional fun features about this underrated beach include a fishing platform, nearby playgrounds and other recreational equipment, as well as a pet-friendly atmosphere that welcomes dogs. Come to enjoy the summer breeze, immaculate views, and sense of community at Beach Lodge.
