Few things are as relaxing and delightful as camping nearby - and in some cases, right on - a beach. Well, being in Indiana, we're a little landlocked - but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy a beachy camping adventure anyway! Here are four places where you can camp on the beach in Indiana, or, at the very least, right up next to it. Check them out and let us know which ones are your favorites! Who knew there are so many stunning beaches in Indiana?
1. Bass Lake Beach and Campground
Bass Lake Beach and Campground is located on, you guessed it, Bass Lake. Bass Lake is an exceptionally beautiful part of Indiana and we're sure you'll love it as much as we do. There's nothing like a sunrise - or a sunset - on this magical little slice of heaven right here in our own backyards.
2. Miami State Recreation Area
The Miami State Recreation Area is located in Peru, Indiana, and is decked out with six beautiful hiking trails as well as boating, swimming, fishing, and just about anything else your heart desires. This beach campground in Indiana is a dream come true for even the least-excited of the folks in your camping party.
3. Sandy Beach Campground
This is one of those lesser-known sandy beaches in Indiana that goes unnoticed by most, though it's absolutely beloved by those who know where it is. The water is clean and the folks here are friendly - you're sure to love it!
4. Hardin Ridge Recreation Area
Last but certainly not least, the Hardin Ridge Recreation Area is one of the most beautiful places in Indiana. It's perfect for a short getaway or a longer-term camping adventure. Come see why this amazing beach getaway in Indiana is one of our very favorites!
As it turns out, Indiana is quite the destination for camping, hiking, and other outdoor delights. It's the perfect mix of man-made wonders and natural gems, and we think it's definitely worth experiencing.
