Root & Bone in Indianapolis offers elevated Southern comfort food, including a signature fried chicken brined in sweet tea, by Top Chef alums Janine Booth and Jeff McInnis.
At the beginning of 2020, Indianapolis was treated to the grand opening of a delicious new Southern comfort food spot with some fairly famous owners. But just as word was getting out about how great this place was, we were hit with a global pandemic and forced to make quite a few adjustments to our daily lives. Luckily, Root & Bone endured. They are back open for indoor and outdoor dining -- and this is a place you'll definitely want to try.
Root & Bone opened in January in the old infamous Big Al’s Superstore building.
The restaurant was opened by Bravo TV's Top Chef alums, Janine Booth and Jeff McInnis.

Janine and Jeff met while cooking together at restaurants in Miami. Following the show, they moved to New York and opened the first Root & Bone location.
Even in a city like New York, this restaurant stood out for its signature fried chicken. Things went so well that the couple decided to expand, and Root & Bone Indy was born.
The menu can best be described as elevated Southern flair -- and the signature dish is a scrumptious fried chicken, which is brined in sweet tea.

The Stutz has been transformed from an iconic auto factory in Indianapolis into one of the best mixed-use developments in the state, playing host to retail, restaurants, gyms, and open-air spaces that make the perfect place to spend a sunny day in the Hoosier State.
The complex still pays tribute to its roots as an auto factory, and visiting it can actually feel a bit like visiting a museum. Events are held here regularly - but the addition of Cafe Patachou at the Stutz is one of the biggest things to happen here in a while, bringing a popular brunch spot into the complex.
The menu at Cafe Patachou is a classic brunch spot with some modern twists, including a Croissant French Toast that's wildly popular and a build-your-own plate option where you can customize your eggs. At lunch, the menu shifts to soups and sandwiches, and an on-site bakery is the perfect spot to get some grab-and-go pastries.
If you don't have time for a full meal here, the Patachou Provisions corner is home to baked goods and a by-the-pound selection of the most popular items at the restaurant.

Why We Love It: It's taken several trips for me to figure out my perfect "weekender bag that's TSA approved," but I've found my perfect carry on with the TOBIQ Colorado 30L. Why I Love It: Fact: Airplanes are notoriously dry, dry, dry. No matter how much water I drink both before and during the flight, I always find myself in a hydration deficit for days.
