Every year, in spring and in fall, the town of Madison, Indiana – more specifically, the Pilot Club of Madison, Indiana – holds a delightful festival that’s sure to earn a place on your favorites list. It’s called Old Court Days, and it’s a fun-filled spring festival in Indiana that you and the family are sure to love. Come hang out, do some shopping with local vendors and artisans, eat some festival food, and have a great time; you’ll find yourself wanting to come back in the fall (and next spring). So, if you’re searching for things to do in Indiana in spring, we recommend adding this charming festival to your list.
All around the courthouse and throughout downtown Madison, folks will set up their booths to sell their wares.
It's a wonderful way to support local artists, crafters, creators, and businessfolk. Where else will you find some of the stuff you'll be able to get here?
Browse through hundreds of local vendors as well as guests visiting from out of state.
Explore all sorts of items, from antiques to wood carvings to paintings, caramel corn, and more. It's one of those places that, as soon as you arrive, you'll lose track of time because you're so busy browsing all the good stuff.
Need houseplants? They've got 'em.
Craving a hand-crafted batch of beeswax soap? Check. Want some cupcakes or something sweet from a local bakery? You won't be able to choose from all the options over here.
Of course, every great festival has its food, too.
Indulge in decadent, delicious delights; we're not entirely certain what it is about festivals (and/or carnivals) that makes comfort food so gosh-darn good, but there really is something extra tasty about the food you get in places like these.
Whether you bring the kids or come on your own, you're sure to have a wonderful time.
Of course, you'll want to make sure you have plenty of space cleared up in the car. You know... for retail therapy reasons. It's okay, we said it's fine.
After all, there's so much to see and so many artists and local vendors to support that we're pretty sure you'll leave like we did: with your arms full and your heart happy.
Old Court Days are held in Madison through the entire 4th weekend in May, and again in autumn, so keep your eyes peeled for the next one! Want more ideas for springtime in Indiana? Check out these 12 places you just HAVE to visit in spring right here in the Hoosier State.
