Situated at Perry Farm Park in the northern Illinois village of Bourbonnais, Indian Caves is open year-round from dawn until dusk.
This little-known Illinois attraction transports guests to a whole other world.
There are a variety of things to do and enjoy at this recreational area.
This includes enjoying farm animals, great hiking trails, viewing wildlife, and much more.
One of the most popular activities is navigating the caves.
This includes a narrow ravine that runs through it from the opening and meets up with the Kankakee River.
This hidden gem includes paths with slippery rocks, so it is not recommended for everyone.
More experienced hikers are typically those that are found at this park.
In total, the area spans 30 acres and is a designated nature preserve.
And, there is no charge to hike here!
The caves are small but exciting to explore ,as they have been worn away by water and wind over many years.
It is an excellent place to cool off and enjoy a watering hole.
Take a dip in the water and enjoy a day exploring the caves and woods around this unique recreational area.
