The coming 2022-2023 winter season will bring plenty of below-average temperatures that will chill you to the bone. The Farmers' Almanac has just released its 2023-2023 winter weather predictions. This has been a go-to publication for long-term weather forecasts since 1818, helping many people plan ahead.
The forecasts are determined by a secret formula that takes into account a variety of factors, including sunspots, planetary positions, and tidal action.
The 2022-2023 winter season in Illinois will be a typical one, but with a bit more chill than usual. We're likely to get frigid temperatures and at times, a great deal of snow.
January in Illinois is expected to be particularly cold, especially towards the middle of the month. By this point, the winter weather will really start to kick in, and you can expect plenty of icy, flaky conditions.
For the north-central states, a region that includes Illinois, a heavy blizzard is expected sometime in late January.
You can expect the month of February to start out relatively quiet in terms of storm activity, but towards the end, a "winter whopper" may occur and temperatures will drop.
We are likely to be a little warmer than the North-Central region, at least. In some states to our west, the Farmers' Almanac winter weather forecast is predicting temperatures as low as -40 degrees!
Make sure you've got your cold weather gear all set. You'll definitely need a shovel or a snow plow this year, and ice scrapers. No matter what the weather brings to Illinois in this upcoming winter season, you want to make sure you're prepared!
