The Melaleuca Freedom Celebration in Idaho Falls is a bucket-list-worthy event. This is the largest Independence Day firework show west of the Mississippi and it’s an incredible sight. The display takes place at Snake River Landing and begins at 10 p.m. More than 18,500 colorful shells light the sky and are choreographed to music to create a mesmerizing show.

2. Hailey Days of the Old West, Hailey

Celebrate a piece of history at the Old West Independence Day event in Hailey. This celebration includes activities such as an antique market, rodeo, parade, and riverfest. The highlight is the 4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza which begins at dusk and can’t be missed.

3. City of Twin Falls Independence Day Fireworks, Twin Falls

The annual Independence Day fireworks display in Twin Falls is a tradition locals look forward to year after year. This 30-minute fireworks show is located at the College of Southern Idaho and begins at approximately 10 p.m. Keep in mind that many streets will be closed throughout the evening so you’ll want to plan your travel to and from the college accordingly.

4. Buhl Sagebrush Days Fireworks Display, Buhl

The small town of Buhl knows how to throw an Independence Day celebration. This small town begins its celebrations on July 1. However, July 4 will be packed with activities including the popular Fourth of July Parade and the firework display that evening.

5. Boise Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration, Boise

If you find yourself in Treasure Valley on the Fourth of July, head to Ann Morrison Park to enjoy a gorgeous fireworks display. The fireworks will be synced to music on 107.1 Hank FM and the show will begin at 10:15 p.m. However, you’ll want to come much earlier to enjoy all of the festivities in the park such as various vendors and an interactive fountain with red, white, and blue water displays.

6. 4th Fest at the Coeur d’Alene Resort, Coeur d’Alene

The Coeur d’Alene Resort is one of our favorite vacation destinations throughout the year, but we particularly love visiting on the Fourth of July. Here, you’ll enjoy a family-friendly event with live entertainment, a dinner buffet in the Resort Convention Center, and a fireworks display in the evening. You can enjoy the fireworks right from the front lawn. Keep in mind that for prime viewing and entry to all of the events including dinner, you must purchase a ticket.
