One of the best things about summer is getting to enjoy farm-fresh fruit that's grown right here in Idaho. After all, nothing beats going straight to the source when it comes to picking up seasonal fruits and veggies! We're grateful to live in a state with tons of local farms and orchards, but Kelley's Canyon Orchard is consistently a favorite among Idahoans. From juicy peaches to homemade jams, you won't be able to resist picking up some goodies from this charming roadside fruit stand.
For four generations, the 112-year-old Kelley's Canyon Orchard has been growing and providing the community with delicious farm-fresh seasonal produce.
Located just north of Buhl, you'll definitely want to stop by the orchard's roadside fruit stand for some of their amazing goods! The orchard opens every year around late June for the cherry harvest and stays open through the apple harvest in October.
The orchard's fruit stand is where visitors can swing by and quickly pick up fruit that's been plucked straight from the ground or tree. They also offer u-pick, although they won't be offering it for the 2020 season.
Cherries and apricots are always the first available fruit of the season, starting in mid-June. Mid-August brings a plethora of other delicious options including peaches, pears, plums, and nectarines. You can do a quick search of what's currently in season here.
Kelley's also offers a variety of handmade fruit jams. Made from the very fruit they grow at the orchard, you'll definitely want to pick up a couple of jars to take home.
Boasting a picturesque location right along the banks of the Snake River in the Snake River Canyon, visiting the fruit stand definitely isn't a chore. It definitely beats the views you get at the grocery store!
Don't let the summer pass you by without picking up some locally grown produce at Kelley's Canyon Orchard. For updates regarding the orchard's fruit stand, visit their Facebook page.
