The colder and snowier the winter, the more we long for signs of spring to put an end to our cabin fever. The moment that sunshine shows its face, the Idaho landscape bursts out of its shell, and so do Idahoans! We may love the snow, but come March, we're ready for recreation and everything that warm weather has to offer, whether that be early April showers, or impatient May flowers.
Spring is in the air, and here are 14 things that prove it.
1. When the vineyards begin to come alive.
Ste. Chappelle in Caldwell is Idaho's largest winery, and one of its most beautiful.
2. When the last bits of ice and snow begin to fade away.
3. Songbirds begin making their way back home.
Mornings become much more musical in the spring.
4. The rivers get a little louder, fuller, and bolder.
5. Early morning joggers begin to fill the sidewalks.
6. Before the blossoms unfold, trees begin to awaken with tiny buds.
7. April showers may come a tad early.
8. Occasionally something a little more ominous will roll in and blanket the landscape.
But since Idaho can be a little indecisive with its weather, sometimes that includes a little snow as well!
9. The smell of damp earth, freshly turned soil, and nature coming to life.
The smells of spring definitely awaken the senses.
10. The blue skies and sunshine begin to peek through winter clouds.
11. Even when the weather is still crisp, shorts come out at the slightest hint of sunshine.
12. Allergies.
13. Baby grass shoots start peeping through the soil.
14. Hidden and landmark waterfalls begin to their seasonal displays of beauty.
