For me, summer means one thing — water fun! Whether it is time at the lake or the water park, I love spending a summer day in the water. Now, there is even more to be excited about as Silverwood Theme Park’s Boulder Beach Water Park has expanded and is now home to the Emerald Forest. Here, you’ll find the Eagle Hunt, the first dueling water coaster in the West and the longest dueling water coaster in the United States.
Silverwood Theme Park is located in Athol, just a short drive from Coeur d’Alene in northern Idaho. This amusement park features more than 70 rides and attractions, making it easy to find something for every member of the family.
On hot days, you’ll want to spend all of your time at Silverwood’s Boulder Beach. This water park offers a variety of low to high-intensity attractions such as Velocity Peak, a high-speed water slide tower where you can reach speeds up to 55 miles per hour.
In 2024, Boulder Beach just became even better. The water park recently opened the Emerald Forest, an expansion of the current water park. This new area increased the water park by up to 30 percent.
The Emerald Forest is full of all types of wonder and joy. For little kids, there is the Salmon Run, a kiddie area with tunnels, numerous slides, and a splash pad. It’s all inspired by the fish in Idaho lakes.
This water coaster is 925 feet long and features three high-speed flying saucers, four hills, and the first ProSlide Shadow Effect.
There are two lanes so you can not only race against friends and family but you are also racing against the clock. It’s designed so you race down the water coaster as an eagle going after its prey.
