At this unique aquarium, you’ll not only get to observe hundreds of animals but you can get up close and interact with various creatures during your visit. From ocean animals to river giants to even a friendly sloth, the East Idaho Aquarium in Idaho Falls is one Idaho attraction that you won’t forget.
The East Idaho Aquarium is located on Anderson Street in Idaho Falls. This aquarium was founded in 2013 and over the years, it has become a favorite Idaho attraction for children and adults alike.
There is plenty to explore and see at the East Idaho Aquarium. Of course, you can’t come to this attraction without visiting all of the ocean life exhibits. You can observe all types of animals that live in ocean waters such as jellyfish, eels, crabs, and tropical fish.
The shark exhibit is one of the most popular stops at this small aquarium in Idaho. You can even crawl into a small tunnel and view sharks swimming above and to the side of you.
If you are brave and want to feel something super cool, head to the stingray touch exhibit. Here, you can softly pet these friendly underwater creatures.
You can also purchase tokens at the front desk to buy food to feed the stingrays!
Ocean creatures aren’t the only water animals you will spot at the Idaho Falls aquarium. There are all types of freshwater fish including river giants and fish that live in rivers and lakes around the Gem State.
Not all of the animals at this Idaho attraction live in the water. The East Idaho Aquarium is also home to all types of birds.
During your visit, head into the bird enclosure and let the birds land on your arm. Don't forget to look up during your visit to see the toucan showing off above you.
Wookie the Sloth is one of the newer attractions at the East Idaho Aquarium and is certainly worth visiting. Sit back and watch Wookie climb, eat, and play. This animal is absolutely fascinating to watch!
