Living in Hawaii, there is plenty to brag about besides the killer weather and beach trips. After all, I see the hashtag #LuckyWeLiveHawaii on Instagram nearly every day. And while we love any excuse to brag about our island home, we especially enjoy bragging about this little slice of paradise in the weeks following the anniversary of Hawaii's statehood. So, without further ado, here are 14 reasons everyone who lives here should be proud of Hawaii.

1. People across the world dream of visiting Hawaii for vacation — which means that we definitely have it all together, right?

12. Hawaii is a frontrunner in the field of astronomy, with one of the country’s most impressive observatories sitting atop Mauna Kea.

13. Punahou School, located in Honolulu, is the largest independent school in the United States. It was also ranked as the “greenest school in America” in 2006. Even if your school rivaled Punahou in high school, it’s still an impressive accomplishment for the state.
