Here's the thing about Georgia beaches--they are often overlooked by many because the state of Florida is so close. Which is unfortunate really, because our beaches are totally underrated to say the least. However, perhaps this beach in Georgia is the most underrated of all, despite having the whitest, most pristine sand in the state. Take a look for yourself.
Tybee Island is hands-down one of the most beautiful beaches in the country.
You don't need to travel into Florida territory to get the white, pristine beaches that most people crave.
...Or the palm trees for that matter.
Just a quick 30 minutes from Savannah, you'll find yourself at the edge of Tybee Island.
As the ultimate weekend getaway, there are tons of things to do in Tybee Island, despite just ogle the beautiful beach.
Visit the historic lighthouse for a unique glimpse back into Georgia history.
Or walk the pier for beautiful 360 degree views of the ocean around you.
With miles and miles of beach available, there are also water sports to participate in, or fishing to be done.
Always make sure to stick around for the sunsets, though.
They are easily some of the best in the country.
Whether a romantic getaway, a trip with the kids, or simple a solo journey to disconnect, Tybee Island has it all.
