There is a new craze sweeping the country, although it technically has been around for centuries. Salt Therapy or Halotherapy, is a widely used natural therapy that simulates the effects of a salt cave. Ancient Greeks once used salt caves to treat a variety of ailments including respiratory illness and skin conditions. Salt was documented as having a positive effect on the airways when a Polish doctor in 1836 found that salt mine workers were not affected by the same general respiratory issues as the rest of the population. Salt therapy eventually became popular in a controlled room in the late 1980s, and now is used for all types of allergy problems, dermatological issues, and respiratory ailments.
The good news is...we have a few Salt Therapy rooms right in our own backyard.
There are two locations for the Salt Med Spa located in Georgia.
Salt Med Spa uses Halotherapy, which literally translates to "Salt Therapy" to treat a variety of ailments in a natural and effective way.
Himalayan salt has been said to assist the body in a variety of ways including detoxification, improving hydration, reducing muscle cramps, and balancing blood sugar.
So imagine how you would feel after being surrounded by it, breathing it in and letting it absorb into your skin.
Salt Med Spa allows you to sit in their salt rooms and just be—you can close your eyes, listen to relaxing music, or get to know your neighbor.
Salt Med Spa even has kid-friendly rooms, too, so the whole family can benefit from this natural therapy.
So turn down the lights, get in a comfortable position, and let the salt cave work wonders on your body.
