Every year in Lawrenceville, Georgia, the Polish Pierogi Festival takes place and transforms the city into a little town in Poland.
This annual fundraising event is organized by volunteers from the Polish Roman Catholic Apostolate of Atlanta and usually takes place during the summer months.
Because who wouldn’t want warmth and sunshine when there is dancing and celebrating like this going on?
Honoring Poland and pierogis for over 10 years, this cultural festival allows guests to admire and appreciate the 1,000-year-old heritage of Polish Catholics in Georgia.
But you don’t have to be religious to enjoy this festival, as it welcomes guests to participate in the traditions, beliefs, and culture that encompass the people of Poland.
There are many authentic delights for visitors to try, from the unique dancing to of course, the Polish cuisine.
The pierogi menu offers a unique combination of flavors from the potatoes and cheese to the mushroom and sauerkraut, plus grilled kielbasa and hunger’s stew known as bigos.
