All aboooaaaarrrdd! This summer there is an opportunity for the whole family to climb aboard a wonderfully scenic mountain train in Georgia. Take a look at the coolest train this side of the Mississippi.
Stone Mountain Park is a perfect place to visit during the summertime in Georgia.
The mountainous scenic railroad at Stone Mountain is one of the most unique rides in the state.
Climb aboard these full-sized 1940s locomotives for a five-mile trip around the mountain.
The most unique part about the railroad at Stone Mountain is that the train cars for riders are open-air…
…so that guests can enjoy the great outdoors and sunny weather while cruising around the mountain.
The entire trip lasts around a half hour, and a new train leaves the station every 45 minutes or so.
If your child is a train enthusiast, then this is the summer scenic ride you do not want to miss.
The vintage trains are all special unto themselves, and there are even a few steam engines which you can get up close and personal with.
By purchasing an Adventure Pass into the park, your train ride is free!
Then you can spend the rest of the day hanging out at Stone Mountain, adventuring through the rest of the attractions.
