This year, viewing Georgia’s fall foliage in its peak will be a lot easier thanks to predictive maps which show partial changes all the way to past peak prime.
During the first week of September, you might see some northern and northwestern states beginning to see leaves changing, but not Georgia.
Alas, living in Georgia means we have to wait in order to witness the beautiful hues that autumn brings. But, it’s always worth the wait.
According to the Smoky Mountains fall foliage prediction map, Georgia is going to start seeing some leaves changing up north beginning the last week of September. But it will be minimal at best.
It won’t be until October 10 that things will be getting closer to peak foliage throughout the state.
But the sweet spot for this year’s predictions, for anyone looking to visit Georgia during prime peak foliage, starts November 7th and ends November 14th.
You don’t want to wait too long to drive through North Georgia because come November 21, the majority of the state is past peak viewing.
However, the week of November 14 will be a good time to drive through central and southern Georgia for peak natural beauty.
According to the map, anything after November 21 in almost all parts of Georgia will be too late, which means the show is officially over until next year.
As always, remember that no tool can be 100% accurate when it comes to Mother Nature. However, this predictive Georgia fall foliage map is one of the best ways to help travelers plan their trips to catch all of the peak colors in Georgia every year.
