A castle in Helen, Georgia is perfect for making some new memories. And it brings the stuff of fairy tales or medieval Europe into a real-life adventure. Do you know we have several castles in Georgia? The newest one opened for visitors in the summer of 2023 after a lengthy construction process that took more than a decade.

Uhuburg Castle is an absolutely magnificent architectural triumph that's sure to become one of the most-visited attractions in this popular tourist town. The castle is open for overnight stays and tours on weekends. This Eagle Owl Castle is truly one of the state's most remarkable buildings and a visit here just might make you feel like you stepped back in time a millennium or so. Let's check out this Helen, GA castle!

The Eagle Owl Castle has 12 towers, a turret, three gatehouses, an 8-story lookout tower, and walls. It's tucked away on a 45-acre mountaintop property and looks straight out of a fairy tale.

Building Uhuburg was a massive undertaking that took over 15 years. Construction started back in 2008.

Try your hand at Medieval Swordsmanship with the Appalachian Sword Club. The mini workshops are taught through historic manuscripts complete with demonstrations and hands-on opportunities for visitors. Also, plan to return in January for the CastleFaire - a Renaissance Festival at Uhuburg.

The Americus Garden Inn is tucked away in Americus, a city of about 15,000 people that's the county seat of Sumter County. Even though it's not a small town by population, the city has a wonderfully quaint vibe that makes it feel much smaller than it is.

The Americus Garden Inn was constructed in 1847, over a decade before the Civil War broke out. The home is in the historic district of Americus, a neighborhood that's filled with sprawling Victorian homes.
