Saint Germain is one sweet little town – and that’s because it’s home to Cathy’s Ice Cream and Candy Shoppe, one of the Northwood’s most iconic sweet shops.
Opened in 1985, those with an affection for confections have been flocking to Cathy’s for decades.
Ranked one of the top six ice cream parlors in Wisconsin, the small town eatery has a big reputation, especially when it comes to its generous sized scoops.
And generous sized may be an understatement. The servings are HUGE!
The massive portions haven’t gone unnoticed, either. Diners consistently comment on the heaping helpings, describing them as huge and Paul Bunyan sized scoops.
Rest assured, though, you don’t have to forgo quality for quantity. Cathy’s serves up 32 mouthwatering flavors of Kemps ice cream, including Gluten-free and dairy-free options.
The menu also includes Italian ice and ice cream-based treats, like sundaes and ice cream sandwiches, which are also pretty sizable.
Remember, Cathy’s isn’t just an ice cream parlor. It’s a candy shop, too, so you can stock up on a variety of novelty treats, chocolates, and nostalgic candies.
Whatever sweets you select, you can enjoy them on-site, thanks to Cathy’s indoor and outdoor dining areas.
When visiting Cathy’s, keep in mind the eatery doesn’t accept debit or credit cards. If you forget to bring cash, don’t worry. There’s an ATM inside.
Cathy’s Ice Cream and Candy Shoppe is open Monday – Thursday, from 12 p.m. – 9 p.m., and Friday – Sunday, from 12 p.m. – 10 p.m. For more information, call (715) 479-3492. You can also visit Cathy’s website or Facebook page.
