Frozen Custard was a hot new item in the 1930s, After tasting this frozen treat at the World’s Fair, a 22-year-old entrepreneur named Paul Gilles built a small custard stand on Bluemound Road.
The custard stand was a huge hit and while there have been many changes over the years, the stand still dishes out creamy and wonderful custard.
When you dine at Gilles, arrive hungry. The restaurant serves a delicious menu that includes its famous custard, sundaes, shakes, malts, floats, and more.
They also serve a unique item, “Gillieburgers.” It’s a classic Sloppy Joe made from a secret recipe and it’s as delicious as it is messy!
