West Virgina has tons of great restaurants. From romantic dining options to casual mom-n-pop joints, there's certainly something for everyone. Sometimes, the best dining spots are hidden behind unassuming, plain-Jane exteriors. That's definitely the case with these 11 little gems. Check them out!
1. Carlitos, Lewisburg
We'll forgive Carlito's for its uninspired exterior, because the Mexican food here is crazy good. You'll be tempted to fill up on the delicious chips, but make sure to save room for your meal! 75 Seneca Trl Ste. 6, Lewisburg.
2. Connie's Corner, Chester
As the name implies, it's on the corner - and to be honest, it doesn't look like much from the outside. Don't be too quick to judge, though...the breakfast here will change your life. 256 Carolina Avenue, Chester.
3. Diehl's Restaurant, Nitro
Diehl's might be West Virginia's favorite restaurant - probably because everything here is delicious. The outside is unassuming, but the food inside is legendary. 152 Main Avenue Front, Nitro.
4. Greg's Restaurant, Capon Bridge
Greg's is certainly unassuming from the outside, but inside it's warm and cozy and offers up some of the best comfort food you can imagine. Save room for pie! 2975 Northwestern Pk. (Rt 50), Capon Bridge.
5. Jim's Steak and Spaghetti House, Huntington
Jim's is a local institution, and there's a reason why - look at this spaghetti! Yum... Find Jim's at 920 5th Avenue, Huntington.
6. King Tut Drive In, Beckley
King Tut Drive In has been around for ages, so you might be tempted to overlook it in favor of a glossy, modern burger joint. That would be a tragedy, because you'd miss out on the steak hoagie...or the burgers...or the pie. 301 N. Eisenhower Drive, Beckley.
7. La Trattoria, Martinsburg
This family-owned restaurant is pretty bland on the outside, but the food inside is anything but. You'll find delicious, authentic Italian food and stellar service here. 148 Lutz Avenue, Martinsburg.
8. Mary B.'s Diner, Parkersburg
Mary B's is the perfect spot for any meal of the day - the breakfast is fabulous, but the burgers, sandwiches and entrees are pretty awesome, too. 2212 Pike Street, Parkersburg.
9. Noah's Eclectic Bistro, Charleston
When you walk up to this plain-Jane restaurant, you'd never know what's waiting for you inside....a gourmet meal. Chef Noah sources local ingredients whenever possible and creates meals to die for. 110 McFarland Street, Charleston.
10. Pugioni's Pasta and Pizza, Morgantown
This neighborhood pizza and pasta joint excels at both - despite its unassuming exterior. 1137 Van Voorhis Road, Morgantown.
11. Yann's Hot Dog Stand, Fairmont
Talk about no-frills! Bring your cash (they don't take cards or checks here), and show up Tuesday-Friday. You'll get some of the best dogs in the entire country. People travel for miles just to get ahold of these babies. 300 Washington Street, Fairmont.
What's your favorite West Virginia restaurant? Does it have a fancy exterior, or is it more humble?
