Spend a fun hour or two picking blackberries at Orr's Farm Market, a charming farm that offers pick-your-own fruit throughout the summer.
If you love fresh blackberries, plan a visit to the West Virginia farm between July 21 and September 1, 2019, for the blackberry harvest season.
Fill your basket with ripe blackberries. You can tell they're ripe, according to Orr's Farm Market, if they easily come off of the branch.
For the best selection and to beat the heat, plan your berry-picking adventure for early in the day.
You can also pick several other fruits when they're ready for harvest, including blueberries.
Orr's Farm Market also offers pick-your-own strawberries, cherries, and raspberries. However, the picking season has ended for those fruits for 2019.
Want to make an afternoon of your visit? Bring lunch along for a leisurely picnic after you've finished picking blackberries.
