West Virginia has tons of beautiful restaurants, but sometimes you can find some true gems hiding behind exteriors that are pretty unassuming. Take a look at this locals' favorite hiding in Nitro.
Diehl's is located at 152 Main Avenue in Nitro. It's a family-owned gem that's been open since 1960.
You'll love the cozy booths in the front...
...but you'll want to check out the walls here. This place is like a museum, with tons of memorabilia...
...including an homage to Elvis.
But the most unique table in the house is the one made from a 283 small block Chevy engine!
One of the most delicious items here is the homemade rolls. They're baked fresh every day.
The French fries are hand cut daily and fried up in an old iron skillet. The restaurant goes through about 1,400 pounds of potatoes every week.
One of the most popular menu items is the spaghetti - a generous portion heaped on your plate, with a side of garlic bread.
The roast beef and gravy is tender and tasty, and served up with a vegetable and homemade roll.
You'll definitely want to save room for dessert. The fresh-baked pies are made from scratch, using the family matriarch's recipes.
Visit Diehl's six days a week, Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, closed Mondays.
