Fircrest is a small city in Pierce County on the outskirts of Tacoma. And while it's considered a wonderful place to raise a family and enjoy a slow-paced way of living, it's not known for much else. But Fircrest is home to one of the best places on the planet to enjoy a good old-fashioned home-cooked meal. Spring Lake Cafe is a local treasure, and thankfully, they're currently offering tasty takeout.
Spring Lake Cafe is located on Regents Boulevard in Fircrest, where it has been for the last decade.
And during that time, this little restaurant has earned a big following.
For many years, Fircrest was a dry town. Luckily, those days have passed.
And Spring Lake Cafe just happened to be the first business previously covered by the ban to get a liquor license.
But it's not the liquor license that keeps people returning to this cafe -- it's definitely the food.
The menu includes plenty of all-American classics, and there's always a daily special or two to tempt you.
The cuisine here can best be described as elevated comfort food.
Freshly made and traditionally American, it's both delicious and irresistible.
The cafe is open for breakfast and lunch daily, although they also serve dinner Tuesday - Saturday.
And since it's walkable from every part of Fircrest, you'd be hard-pressed to find a local who hasn't tried all three meals here.
This is made-from-scratch cooking at its finest.
It's no wonder people often come from Tacoma and Federal Way to enjoy a hearty brunch here.
Currently, Spring Lake Cafe is still offering their delicious food for takeout.
Aside from their standard tasty breakfast and lunch fare, they're still doing weekly dinner specials like fresh Alaskan halibut and this hearty prime rib (on Thursdays).
If you live anywhere near Fircrest, consider supporting this fantastic cafe. Their daily specials are listed here.
