Spring is here, and that means patio dining season is upon us. There’s really nothing better than enjoying a meal outdoors with an incredible view, and luckily Washington has plenty of places to do that. Seattle dominates the rooftop deck scene due to its abundance of tall buildings, but there are spots all over the state that offer elevated outdoor eating. These are a few of the finest rooftop and upper deck dining options.
1. Frolik Kitchen + Cocktails, Seattle
Frolik serves small plates, entrees and craft cocktails from their spot in the Motif hotel downtown. This is one of the most beautiful rooftop restaurants in the state, hands down.
2. Pierside Kitchen, Semiahmoo Resort, Blaine
The beautiful Semiahmoo Resort sits right on the water, and their restaurant, Pierside Kitchen, has a great deck overlooking the Semiahmoo Bay.
3. Terra Plata, Seattle
Terra Plata’s rooftop patio features an edible garden.
4. Cliff House, Bellingham
The Cliff House is one of Bellingham’s best spots for steak and seafood. Thanks to Washington’s recent warm spring weather, the upper deck is already open.
5. Saranac Public House, Spokane
Saranac Public House has a relaxing patio, but they also have a rooftop available to rent for private events.
6. Top Side Bar & Grill, Steilacoom
You can catch a summer sunset over the water as you enjoy clam chowder and fish and chips at Top Side.
7. Gustav’s, Leavenworth
This casual Leavenworth family restaurant has an awesome rooftop patio where you can enjoy your brats and beer.
8. The Pink Door, Seattle
One of Seattle’s most magical restaurants is even better during the warmer months when the outdoor deck is open.
9. Clinkerdagger, Spokane
This 40+ year-old local landmark overlooks the beautiful Spokane River.
10. Monsoon, Seattle
Monsoon on Capitol Hill opened a rooftop deck in June of 2015 that seats about 25 and has its own bar.
11. Michael’s on the Lake, Moses Lake
The views at Michael’s are amazing, and luckily the food is just as good.
12. Hard Rock Cafe, Seattle
The Hard Rock’s rooftop lounge faces Pike Place Market and the waterfront, making it a popular spot for both tourists and locals.
